Social Media is one of the greatest inventions of the digital era. At no point of time in human history have we been more connected with each other than we are right now. It has made the world smaller and more accessible.

And at a time when physically meeting with one another is no longer an option, social media has helped connect friends and family from all over the world.

But for all the good that comes with it, social media can also get overwhelming. The constant influx of information can have a negative impact on one’s mental health. Trying to stay up to date with everything that is happening online can cause our brains to burn out. And the first step that we can take towards taking care of ourselves is by taking a break.

A great way of doing this is by limiting the time we spend on social media.

We may not know it, but mindlessly scrolling through our feeds takes away precious time from our lives. While it can be tempting to log back onto your profiles, the best way to go about it is by finding something new to utilize your time.

To help you get started, here are five things that you can do on your phone instead of scrolling through social media.
