First, what is MonsterInsights?
MonsterInsights is a plugin that allows you to easily add, customize, and manage Google Analytics on your WordPress site. It is a free and premium plugin for WordPress and I use the free version! How to track Restrict Content Pro and GiveWP using MonsterInsights?
Well, you need MonsterInsights into your WordPress first.
Log into your WordPress account and go to Plugins. Click Add New and then Type “MonsterInsights” into the search plugin. Find a plugin named Google Analytics Dashboard Plugin for WordPress by MonsterInsights (the purple mascot with a magnifying glass).
Just as usual, click “Install Now” > and “Activate”.
Next, connect your Google Analytics account and MonsterInsights.
After the plugin is activated, you’ll see a new menu item labeled “Insights” in your WordPress admin menu. Click it to bring the MonsterInsights setup wizard.
In the MonsterInsights setup wizard, you’ll be asked to choose a category for your website.
- Business Website – for example, company website
- Publisher – for example, blog
- eCommerce – for example, online store
Select eCommerce for this tutorial and click the “‘Save and Continue” button.
On the next page, click on the “Connect MonsterInsights” button. This will bring up a Google account login page. Once you login to your Google account, you’ll be asked to allow MonsterInsights to access your Google Analytics account. Click on the “Allow” button to continue.
Now, select your eCommerce website to track and then click “Complete Connection. “
After completing the connection process, you’ll see MonsterInsights in your WordPress navigation bar. Click the MonsterInsights icon on the menu and select eCommerce.
