Luxury Travel for Less in Las Vegas

Thanks for sharing!

2 nights for Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, 5 nights for Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations, two-way flights to Las Vegas, rental car for 7 days, and the total cost was $804.18 for 2 adults.

Our yearly domestic travel budget is $2000, so we still have $1100 to spend. (Most of the money goes to restaurants because we love eating.)

In this article, you’ll learn how we saved money on hotels and flights but still enjoy luxury travel.

Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts is Hilton’s luxury brand of iconic hotels.

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas has no casino but right on the Las Vegas Strip. It’s a convenient location. A sky bridge is connected to The Shops at Crystals. The hotel also has gourmet dining, three pools, and an award-winning spa. Guests at this hotel may be required to pay the resort fee such as $45.00 per room, per night.

We used the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card benefit for this stay. The Aspire card comes with “free weekend reward nights” and “$250 in Hilton resort statement credits.”

  • Free Weekend Reward Nights – Free one weekend night at almost any Hilton properties worldwide every year.
  • $250 in Hilton Resort Statement Credits – This credit can apply to room rates, dining, activities and spa treatments.

Saturday was free, Sunday was $246.38 + $45 resort fee + $38.99 tax and it comes to a total of $330.37. We use $250 in Hilton Resort Statement Credits to pay this, so it comes to $80.37.

5 nights for Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations $59

Hilton Grand Vacations Club (HGVC) is a points-based reservation and timeshare ownership program by Hilton. Every year, we will have a specific allowance of club points to use. We used that points to stay at Elara by Hilton. $59 was the reservation fee.

We used the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card benefit for these flights.

This credit card offers an annual companion ticket each year and can use on certain round-trip tickets within the contiguous United States. The first ticket must pay full price but the second ticket will be free + tax. (you can’t use only a companion ticket; it needs to combine with full price ticket)

No discount. We just choose the cheapest option.

Wrapping Up

Annual fees for Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card and Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card are not cheap. However, we still save a lot of money using these credit cards and their benefits. If you are a traveler and enjoy “Luxury Travel for Less”, these two credit cards are super beneficial to you.
